His medical training includes a four-year undergraduate degree in Immunology from the University of Toronto, a medical degree from McGill University, and a five-year specialization in Radiology and Oncology.

 

As the former head of one of Canada's largest Medical Isotope Cancer Treatment programs, Dr. Makis has extensive experience in oncology and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in international medical journals.

 

Today, his work investigating repurposed drugs and cancer is opening an important conversation about what may be possible, what the research is showing and what patients need to know.
